Liza wins the ACDCA National Specialty Herding Championship! Liza beat out the competition to win this year's belt buckle. She follows in the footsteps of her father PJ, who won it the last 3 years. Liza then went on to win the High Combined Cattle award at the Canadian National Specialty.
Starting in mid-September I will restart my herding group lessons. These are beginner lessons (though some of my students have been coming for a while, so it is not entirely brand new herders.) These are weekly lessons on either Tuesday or Wednesday mornings. These are suitable for brand new herders, or herders with a bit of experience. We work you and your dog at whatever level you are at, but it is done in a group format, so everyone learns from everyone else. Contact me if you would like more information, or if you want to sign up. If there is enough interest, I could potentially add a series of afternoon lessons.
Available to the right home: Wrangler is available to the right home. She is 3 1/2 years old and could be a show dog, working/performance dog, or a pet. She is a full (younger) sister to Liza, our most recent ACDCA National Herding Champion winner; and she is the daughter of PJ, who has won three times. She is a finished conformation championship, and has some training on both sheep and cattle. Contact us if you are interested in her. She needs an experienced ACD home.
August 18-20 we have a clinic with Kent Herbel. The working slots are full, but I do keep a waiting list. We do have room for auditors. August 21 we have one private lesson available with Kent. Sheep and cattle available.
Sep 29-Oct 1 is the next clinic with Kent Herbel. We have a few working slots available. All levels are welcome, though this is probably not suitable if neither you nor your dog have ever worked stock. Sep 28 and Oct 2 we have some private lessons available. Sheep and cattle available.
